Affirmation necklace for Jamie

I feel one of the great privileges in life is to be given the honor of raising a baby to adulthood. If you are not raising them, then someone else most certainly is. A good family support system would include Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles but this cannot always be the case. Some families do better than others.

I remember going to my friends name celebration of their baby daughter which is a Jewish custom. The Rabi spoke of the privilege that was bestowed on them (the parents) of raising this little girl being, this “Spirit”. I left the gathering forever changed with an enlightened level of respect and awe for all my parents had done for me.

If Mother Earth had a microphone to speak into to be sure she would say a huge thank you to all you parents raising babies into children and onto adulthood.

Fast forward twelve years later to fall 2009 when I was invited to another Jewish celebration of my friends daughter’s bat mitzvah. It is a milestone celebration for a young girl passing from the age 12 to 13. At this love filled celebration, my friends' daughter thanked her parents in her welcome speech to everyone, which totally made me tear up that a young girl could have so much composure. My hands were totally sweating up in nervousness, but Jamie sailed through it.

I looked over at my friends “the parents” Dad’s hand on Mom’s shoulder as their daughter spoke, their bodies pressed together throughout her speech.

I have to say as much as I tried to keep my composure, the room was spinning. I saw the totality of life in a snapshot. Very humbling….

Prior to the event in conversation, I asked my friend what do you buy for a bat mitzvah present? My friend replied “Would you please gift my daughter a “Affirmation necklace” so she will stop borrowing mine?

Big gulp on my end of the phone? Really? Oh, I think I can arrange that. Big laughter.

A month passed and in the mail showed up a thank you note, written from Jamie thanking me for attending her bat mitzvah and how much she enjoyed her “Affirmation necklace”.

Ah, to think that I knew her and talked to her when she was in my dear friends tummy, and the little “baby blob” she was at her name celebration, was now writing thank you notes.

Getting older is highly under valued in todays writings, it is absolutely amazing.

Fun Sayings, positive affirmations and powerful quotes:

“If only we’d stop trying to be happy, we could have a pretty good time.
-Edith Wharton
American novelist

Each person has his own safe place – running, painting, swimming, fishing, weaving, gardening. The activity itself is less important than the act of drawing on your own resources.
-Barbara Gordon
20th-centurty American writer

The best mind – altering drug is truth.
-Lily Tomlin
American actress & comedienne

This is one of my favorite positive affirmation statements:

At every moment, a woman makes a choice: between the state of the queen and the state
of the slavegirl. In our natural state, we are glorious beings. In the world of illusion, we
are lost and imprisoned, slaves to our appetites and our will to false power. Our jailer is a three-headed monster: one head our past, one our insecurity, and one our popular culture.
-Marianne Williamson

Here is an excerpt of Dr. Joseph Murphy from his book:
“Mental Poisons and Their Antidotes”

“A woman sixty-seven years of age told me all the reasons she could not get married; then she began to silently practice correct inner speech as follows:
“I thank you Father for my perfect, ideal, divine companion.” She repeated this to herself many times a day; after a while her concept was impressed on the subconscious and she met a retired druggist whom she married. They are ideally happy. Her inner speech was one with her aim. She spoke inwardly as though it had already happened. It had happened in the only place it could ever happen, namely in her own mind”.

Consider trying this affirmation moment:
I don't know about yourself for a image but I hold the following image in my mind;

"I am floating/swimming in the beautiful Hawaiian Islands waters looking at the white sandy beach and the palm trees swaying...."

I focus on my desire "Joy";

I then inhale a full long breath through my nose and then I exhale the breath, full, and relaxed with a big "aahh sigh" sound while you are exhaling thru your mouth.

I remember the charm of Master/Dr. sha

A little while ago I was in conversation with a friend who is a Health Professional and we were talking about various things like Cars, Dior, Tiffany. You know the basic 'seekers'of modern day conversation that lure us to what is just a statement of art really. I find it interesting that as women we are so well educated about style and that all of our opinions are correct, because it is such a subjective topic, beauty that is. I feel it truly is the “eye of the beholder”.

Our talk drifted onto spas/ massage and then my friend mentioned a Dr. Sha and a seminar that Dr. Sha was hosting. Dr. Sha -- hmm, I thought, and then blurted out “you mean the Acupuncturist Master Sha? I don’t think there could be another Dr. Sha just like there is only one "Cavelli" right? My friend replied “No, no Rena you wouldn't know Dr. Sha; he lives in Santa Barbara and is a world renowned healer. Tall Chinese Man right? I quipped. My friend looked at me nose and eyes scrunched up, perplexed at my insisting that I would have a story that included the wit and charm of Master Sha.

Master Sha lived in Vancouver B. C. in the early nineties (1995), for a couple of years I believe and he was my first experience with Acupuncture. He blew into town and then out of town again and I've never heard of him since, and quite often wondered what happened to this Man with an energy field that literally vibrated around him.

You have to understand in Asian politeness and respect the term “Master” is used to identify a person who has accomplished a certain level of skill and honor within his field of interest. Master Sha is a Master Acupuncturist but in addition to this he is a Medical doctor as well. Also, he is tall. I am 5’8” and I looked up to him.

I was having some health issues and Master Sha used Acupuncture to help heal me. I have had other Acupuncture treatments over the years, but honestly nothing like my experience with Master Sha. His needles were a longer in length and thinner in comparison to other sessions I have had. I am indebted to him along with a couple of other Healers I met along my healing curve, but make no mistake there really is only one Dr. Sha.

To meet Master/Dr. Sha was to see a human being smiling, brilliant who reminded you of a child running through a field at full tilt. His charm and beaming energy is only paralleled by his calling to be a Doctor and a Healer. He was the first “Master” I met and he was my own personal gauge I have used through time with my introductions to other healers.

When you met Master Sha he looked into your eyes and took a reading that was unique to him. He spoke very softly, and the contact was so clear, you could hear him on a level that I really can’t articulate that well in written form. He is a very kind and compassionate Man and passionate in his healing work. Mixed in with this he laughed a lot and had a quick wit in his conversation with you.

My Mom and Dad went to Master/Dr. Sha as well for Acupuncture and even went on to visit a couple of his soul study classes. My Mom of course bought three of his books for me and two of them are autographed.

I googled Master Sha and see that he is called Master/Dr. Sha now and has a website with various areas of interest to do with expanding your own healing energies. He has his own form of Medicine which is called Zhi Neng medicine, and it works on the premise that we can do a lot of healing ourselves. There are several books and events of interest to look at on his website:
www.drsha.com

In his book Sha’s Golden Healing Ball – on the first page is written:

To all who seek healing…

May you be healed
physically,
emotionally,
mentally
and
spiritually.

isn't that a lovely thought?....

The positive affirmations of Dr. Ellie Drake

The BraveheartWomen website launched in 2009 by motivational speaker and network marketer Dr. Ellie Drake is well worth the visit.

The first caption you are greeted with is “For Women who choose to be Inspiration in Action”. The next writing that will catch your eye is the mission statement as follows:

Braveheart Women Global Community Mission Statement:

“To connect the Women of the world together to receive & give Inspiration in the areas of Self-Esteem, Empowerment, Purpose, Passion and Personal Prosperity while enhancing the world by being Brave Women who live from the Heart”.

Then there is the video of Maya Angelou speaking with Dr. Ellie Drake and echoing the need for the vehicle of BraveheartWomen.com. The real gem of this website for me personally is listening to the powerful positive affirmations that Dr. Ellie Drake has compiled for a.m. and p.m. listening.

I was attracted to the site initially because I really connected to:
“Be Inspiration in Action” which resonated with the quote:

“Be the change you want to see in the World”. – Mahatma Gandhi

I feel that positive thinking is the foundation or rather cornerstone to the first step in having a happier life. Napoleon Hill’s works examined the power of personal beliefs and the role they play in personal success.

“What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve”
- is one of Hill’s hallmark expressions.

The ritual of positive affirmations is the essence of re-educating the subconscious for creating an optimal future.

I am really interested to hear your thoughts on your visit to the Braveheartwomen.com site.

Manifest your future with affirmation charms

I met Clinical Psychologist Dr. Lee Pulos at a lecture he gave here in Vancouver in the mid 1990s which centered around the behavioural DNA coding we are all born with. There was a visiting researcher from Colorado that did the presentation with Dr. Pulos that showed evidence that we have the ability to change the coding on a cellular level to enhance our lives. All these years later I never forgot that lecture and I see the value in working with affirmation charms as a way to focus on our future more than ever.

I was fortunate enough to have some private sessions with Dr. Lee Pulos and it was back then through Lee that I first heard of Qigong. I will talk about my personal positive experiences with this valuable knowledge system on another post.

I was just thinking about all of the above, and googled Dr. Pulos and was really happy to see he has a website. He is a highly educated, well traveled, kind soul who speaks with years of wisdom on his side.

I am sharing an excerpt from his website: drpulos.com. and highly recommend you visit his site.

"Mysteries and Secrets of Manifestation":

One of the oldest and most spiritual cultures that goes back over 3000 years is the Huna or Kahuna philosophy of Hawaii and Polynesia. Huna means Secret and the fundamental idea in Huna philosophy is that we each create our own personal experience of reality by our beliefs, interpretations, thoughts and feelings-and that we are creating and are co-creators with the universe itself. Huna is all about learning to do that consciously.

Dr. Serge King is a Psychologist, author and was initiated into the esoteric order of the Kahunas by his father at the age of fourteen. In his book, “Mastering your Hidden Self" - "a Guide to the Huna Way" – he summarized the essence of the Kahuna philosophy.

The 1st. principle is that: The world is what you think it is and this is the cornerstone of the Huna. It means essentially that you create your personal experience of reality through your beliefs, expectations, attitudes, judgements, desires, fears and persisting thoughts and actions.

The 2nd principle: There are no limits- there are no real boundaries between you and your body – you and other people – you and the world – you and God. Separation is a useful illusion – We are all one and connected with all that is.

The 3rd principle: Energy flows where attention goes. Your thoughts and feelings form the blueprint for manifesting into your life – the closest possible experience equivalent to those feelings.

The 4th principle: Now is the moment of power. You are not bound by the past – nor by any perception of the future. You have the power in the now to change limiting beliefs and consciously plant seeds for a future of your choosing.

The 5th principle: To love is to be happy. The universe exists because of love. Humans exist because of love – even when they don’t acknowledge it. In Huna, love involves the creation of happiness. Love is the only ethic needed in Huna.

The 6th principle: All love comes from within. There is no power outside of you because the power of God – or the universe works through you – in your life. You are an active channel for that power.

The 7th princple: Effectiveness is the measure of truth. In an absolute universe – which Huna assumes – there cannot be an absolute truth. Instead, each truth must be effective for you. Any organization or system of knowledge is seen as convenient – not factual. Another way of saying that – is all systems – schools or philosophies are arbitrary – so feel free to use what works.

Following is one of the sonnets from the book “Ano Ano" - The Seed", by Author Kristen Zambucka - an interperter of Huna. It is called:

"Ho’ Ano - (Making the seed)"

"Form a clear unwavering picture in your mind…of the condition or object you desire.

Be very careful of the details of your picture for the subconscious mind that will receive it is sharply accurate…and you will get that exact replica of what you envisage.

Forget the old condition entirely…let it fall away from your mind.

Clearly see the new desired state.

Paint the picture carefully inside your head…and resist any changing of your mind.

Act then as if you have already received the condition for which you asked.

Feel it already upon you with the love or joy or whatever emotion you would experience as if it were so.

Act it out.

For this subconscious mind of which we speak…this “unihipili”…is like a child.

It loves pictures and will respond also to any emotional surge you project to it.

Daily thereafter gather mana by taking four breaths and offer it as a gift to God within you.

Then after this offering each day, recall the “seed picture” of your desire and offer it anew also…to the same higher consciousness – within yourself.

This practice will strengthen the picture and make it clearer as it nears the stage where it will take form.

Wash out all your doubts…they can so discourage the subconscious that the daily rite will be interrupted and your fruit will wither on the vine".

Hope you enjoyed the above read,

Consider trying this affirmation "moment":

I don’t know about yourself for a image but I hold the following image in my mind:

“I am floating/swimming in the beautiful Hawaiian Islands waters looking at the white sandy beach and the palm trees swaying……”

I focus my desire on "Love":

You then inhale a full long breath through your nose, and then you exhale the breath, full, and relaxed with a big “aahh sigh” sound while you are exhaling thru your mouth.

My first Feng Shui paid consultation

I will never forget my first paying Feng Shui consultation. It was September 2000, and a colleague that I was working with referred me to a friend of hers who was trying to sell her townhouse. It was a bright sunny day, as I drove and listened to some nice tunes in my car for my 9 a.m. appointment. No one on the road (I thought to myself) and then out of nowhere a black mustang car smashes into my driver's side door. As it turns out it was a car dealer showing a perspective client, a brand new model car, until they hit me that is.

I climbed out of the passenger side door (unscathed) and looked at the damage. My car door, well you couldn’t open it and the mirror was just dangling and the front left tire looked a little wobbly. I remember saying to those two men in the mustang, “I don’t have time for this right now” I am a Feng Shui designer and I am on my way to an appointment. They both looked at each other, their heads tilted like “she’s a fruitcake” I could feel them thinking. “Lets trade insurance notes," I continued, "and I will come and see you after my appointment.” With that I got in my car and drove off to my Feng Shui consultation.

It was a little embarrassing to have to climb out of the passenger door to go knock on the front door. Anyways, the client had been trying to sell her condo townhome for several months with no offers and wanted to know what I thought. I walked through her space and gave a verbal audit of her home and what had to happen to make it more “buy me” friendly. Most of this involved moving the Feng Shui aspects of her furniture and overall Redesigning the room.

I explained how the subconscious symbolism of Feng Shui would change the energy of her sanctuary and create a psychologically healthier space. I remember her looking at me with wide eyes, and I could see everything was going over her head and she was not absorbing the information. My work colleague who gave me the referral was there as well and I looked at the both of them and said. “Well, if you two are up for it, why don’t we just move everything right now while I am here.” So we did.

As we were finishing up my client said, “is this what you normally do?” I answered “no not normally” but it was a lot of fun to feel the energy shift right at the moment. I also recall her saying. “You should do this as your own style.” “Yeah, but how do I explain it"? Decorate with Feng Shui? It wasn’t just Feng Shui or “just” decorating. I thanked her for sharing her home with me most humbly and left to go find the car salesman who drove me off my path, or did he?

I had been using my signature style of Feng Shui and then in the fall of 2007 I received an invitation from my alumni The Western School of Feng Shui, to take a course in Interior Redesign with Feng Shui. I had never heard of Redesign before and researched Interior Redesign and Home Staging and discovered two organizations that were affiliated but hosted in Canada and the U.S.A. The U.S.A. organization IRIS “Interior Redesign Industry Specialists” and the Canadian counterpart is CRDA, Canadian Redesigners Association.

The Western School of Feng Shui was hosting Mary Dennis and I have heard such great things about her as a Feng Shui Interior Designer and her school “Graceful Lifestyles”. I could not make it down to San Diego to attend that course because of my life schedule.

I met with Val Sharp who was the founder of the Canadian Redesigners Association, and took her course, which was well, a total blast. Thanks Val.

Working with these two approaches Feng Shui & Redesign together- is a lot of fun and very rewarding for the client. By using reliable Redesign principles, and the wisdom of Feng Shui you can enjoy the balance and flow of your space that looks and feels amazing.

It was silver charms for the July 4th plane ride

We have some really wonderful friends that are parents/grandparents and when we stopped by their ranch on the beautiful Snoqualmie river in the state of Washington over the weekend, our friend had such a fun story to tell us about his wife and her sister.

Off to see Mickey and Minnie:

We were told the two sisters got the idea together and planned a surprise holiday to Disneyland for three of their nephews, nieces and a cousin to. The kids were asked to grab their clothing for the weekend and that they were going to the river ranch for the July 4th festivities. We had just arrived at their property and our dear friend had just gotten off the phone as his wife, her sister and the four kids were boarding the plane to take off from Seattle to Los Angeles.

I asked, “Didn’t the kids ask why they were going to the airport?”. “Actually I asked the same thing” he mentioned. Apparently it wasn’t until they were pulling up at the airport that one of the kids asked why they had to go to the airport first?

There was their Aunt holding silver charms that were Disneyland tokens in her hand and boarding passes in the other. You can only imagine the yelps of glee from the surprised kids.

Honestly, I was jumping up and down cheering just hearing the story. Can it get any happier than that I ask you? I just think of the fantastic imprint that these kids have for their lives to revisit in their childhood memory bank. Every July 4th, they will remember the year they went to Disneyland.

Life can be hard. As an Aunt, Uncle, or Grandparents, how wonderful it is to be able to participate in a young persons upbringing. This is a feel good story of how these kids will be able to have an expectant heart that good things will be happening. They can project their positive attitude out into their future, and enjoy the benefits of their approach to life.

"Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer
but wish we didn't".
-Erica Jong
American writer

-Pearl S. Buck
American writer & humanitarian

This is one of my favorite positive affirmations statements:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that
we are powerful beyond measure. It is out light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing
enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same."
-Marianne Wiliamson

Here is an excerpt of Dr. Joseph Murray from
his book: "Mental Poisons and Their Antidotes"
Fear is a shadow of the mind held by ignorance and darkness. When you hold your fear to the light of reason and intelligence, it can't stand the light and it disappears. Among the offspring of fear are the following:

a) Hatred, which is really inverted or misdirected love based on ignorance

b) Self-pity, which is really self-absorption. This mental poison creeps through the
psychic blood stream poisoning the springs of hope and faith.

c) Old age, fear is another mental poison. Old age is not the flight of years, but
the dawn of wisdom, truth, and beauty.

d) Loneliness, is a lack of love. The loveless seek love, but the loving find love
and friendship everywhere. The antidote is to fall in love with God's companions in
your mind. Their names are goodwill, kindness, gentleness, peace, patience, understanding,
and a sincere interest in others.

Have a beautiful day!

Inspirational Jewelry offers a happy thought

Wow, the Internet is a big cyberspace. It reminds me of the Star Wars movie when we follow the characters through the huge cavern of the spaceship landing and take off area. The scene of that world in space is so huge, bigger than anything any of us have seen in real life to date. It makes you take a breath. Then Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia turn and walk to the landing pad edge of the spaceship and looking over their shoulder out into the galaxy we see a trillion stars and feel the enormity of the vastness of space.

When I started my blog and ventured out into that vast space I was so impressed with all of the talented journalists and writers with their various areas of interest and expertise. It can actually be overwhelming because there is so much content available to read. I find that inspirational jewelry can be a reassurance when I am feeling slightly disconnected with the varying ideologies and story telling that is out there on the web to read.

Before launching my blog I tended my own garden and have worked on being the best that I can be. My garden is small and it is a constant job just to keep the weeds out and grow healthy ideas. Now that I have been exposed to the plethora of business successes in the realm of positive thinking I see how small I am in this ocean of space.
I almost felt bad for a minute, feeling the competitive or the masculine shadow start to judge myself. When that happens and make no mistake the tests are always there in our subconscious to pass or fail, I just say no.

There is always going to be someone or something to measure yourself against, and for me I just stop it immediately and move along to a positive loving thought. This is what the grace of age offers to us as a gift. Inspirational jewelry can offer that focal point and act as a reminder of what really counts, what really matters.

I know the universe is out there and for myself I can only be true to what makes me unique as a human being. I can only work in my garden of ideas and not get distracted or lose focus as to my purpose.

“We can do no great things~only small things with great love”.

Off the beaten track of charm jewelry

"I’ll be back" is a well-known catch phrase used in the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie “The Terminator”. The character is denied access to a building and returns and basically demolishes it. The shock of this statement is that I said that exact phrase as a young girl and was so surprised to see it used in a movie with brute force. What and how does that phrase have anything to do with charm jewelry, is absolutely nothing. Which is my point exactly.

Here is my story;

When I was in grade four my family moved from the interior town of Kamloops, British Columbia to the coastal city of Vancouver. I didn’t want to move from my home. I was born in Kamloops B.C. and my parents told me it was 32 below Fahrenheit on the steps of the hospital the morning I was born. The Interior of B.C. boasts big skies and beautiful waterways of rivers. The climate is dry and hot in the summer and freezing cold with snow in the winter.

"Go play outside" as a kid meant bare feet and navigating through an open field of tumbleweed and thistle. "Go play outside" was a field of wild asparagus and the intense smell of freshness standing in that field. "Go play outside" was riding the neighbour's horse bareback and getting thrown, kicked, bitten and stepped on.

"Laughter" was my Father getting mad when the palomino across the street would get away and come and stand in our carport and look in the kitchen window. "Laughter" also was the memory of putting on our ski boots, and hiking up the back hill and by the light of my Father's car headlamps skiing at night, way before it was even a concept for the big resorts of today.

"Scary" was hearing a big noise in the carport and my Dad opening the kitchen door only to see a cougar standing with his paws on the storm window door looking at us all. The big cat was chasing ‘Snookums’ our orange kitty who had hid under the doorstep.
"Scary" was seeing a dead adult rattlesnake on the road that a car ran over only to see it start to move again.
"Scary" was being caught in a storm ‘out of the blue’ and knowing not to be outside in a electrical storm and riding my bicycle so fast home with our family dog, my legs being rubber by the time we landed in the carport.

The day I had to leave I did two things. I got a dime -and that was a lot of money to a kid in grade four back then - and I sat on the bottom step to the basement and I wedged it in the side of the staircase so the house would know that it wasn’t my idea to leave.

I then got on our neighbour's horse “Spunky”, a welsh pony with blue eyes, a white mane and a mean bite, and headed up to the local bluff to look down at my valley. That’s when I said it.
“I’ll be back”.

I understood when the character in the Terminator says that line, for sure he would be back, because he was not leaving the people in the building he cared for behind.

That phrase “I’ll be back”, went on to have a career of cameo lines in several Arnold Schwarzenegger movies and even celebrity impression comedians would often recite it in a mock Austrian accent.

In my life movie I go back to that moment with that phrase, "I'll be back", every time. Because it is an empowering and life affirming memory, I invite it to stay and I am infused with the happiness of youth every time I hear it.

What is your happy childhood story? I would really be interested in hearing you tell it.
