Health for your mind.

My purse dangle creation was included in a  gift bag  to Martha Stewart back in 2011.  I included two  dangles from my collection; one was for Martha and the other was for her daughter Alexis Stewart. I was really happy to be invited to send my purse dangle to Martha Stewart and just by a wild chance get some feedback.

Maybe just maybe she would place an order.

Not to keep you in suspense, no orders came. I am sure she received it but maybe she gifted it to someone who she thought would be worthy of it. It's all good and I had a lot of fun dreaming - good dreams of sales.

The dangle I sent Martha was HEALTH and I put a polished quartz crystal nugget with it.  For her daughter  I sent along  a JOY dangle with a quartz crystal nugget and kyanite gemstone.  Once or twice I have daydreamed that the gift maybe even  made it to the streets of New York city  clipped onto Martha's yoga bag or tote bag.

I just came across this video with Martha Stewart  and Deepak Chopra talking about their new book releases.

Martha Stewarts new book, Living the Good life, focuses on your health as a 40 year old and older. She quoted some statistics that pretty soon there will be more people over the age of 65 then under in the U.S.A.

When I saw this video and realized that Martha's focus was Health I smiled. When I was presented with the opportunity to introduce my product to Martha Stewart I was a little nervous of gifting the right path.
I was going to send her a LOVE dangle but I always remember my Grandmother saying "If you have your Health you have everything."

So I chose HEALTH for Martha Stewart.

Alexis Stewart was a new Mother so I sent JOY her way.

I really took my time and thought about it, what  positive energy to gift to Martha Stewart. It was chosen with heartfelt intention.

To see Martha with a new book on Health made me very happy to see that my Grandma's voice in the back of my head chose the right path as a gift for her.

Deepak Chopra's co-authored book  Rudolph E. Tanzi tackles the lifestyle choices that takes on preventing Alzheimers disease.

To hear that lifestyle choices can affect preventing Alzheimer's is really encouraging.

Create New Direction.

It is nice to be reminded that there are people doing amazing things out there  and we are again reminded this year with Amazing People video 2013.

Creating New Direction is the phrase that comes to mind when I watch this video. Going out of your way to break a pattern and do something new. Instead of walking to the store in one direction, walk another block and create a new path. Or back your car into your parking stall instead of driving in straight. Move the milk to the second shelf on your fridge instead of the top shelf. Buy yourself some flowers.

Put some images of a sport you would like to try  on your vision board at the beginning of the year and see what happens. No time for a vision board - just put it on your fridge. One image of a sport or of you doing something grand.

These little out of the box feelings give your mind and your senses a kick start.

Another suggestion is set your alarm 8 minutes earlier than normal and spend your first 8 minutes of the morning - just breathing and contemplating your day.

Then grab your dirt bike and go ride up and over  a cliff.

Paddle out to the find the largest wave to surf.

Hope on a plane and travel to the grand canyon with your parachute and go for a sail in the sky.

Skip a rope as fast as you can.

Find some fresh powder and go skiing.

Go for a run up a hill.

Hit the water with your feet skiing.

Fly through the air with your skateboard.

Comtemplate a  life moment with just one hand holding on.

Now go outside and play...

Have a beautiful day,

Remember to breathe.

What does your gratitude look like?

Some people it seems just skate through life without showing much gratitude and do just fine. I have met these people along my path and so have you I will presume.

However what they have gained by their acquired material items in relationship to wisdom is really the question to ask.

I think this is a great  example of just keeping your eye on your own path and not comparing of where you appear to be. One of the best things I have discovered in my life to date (other than perfume.com) is that if you keep your thoughts on your inner happiness you spend less time looking at other people's success and failures.

By minding your own garden you are contributing to those around you.  You become your own little lighthouse. I hear a song coming...

"This little light of mine I'm going to let it shine"... let it shine,  let it shine,  let it shine...

When a wonderful event happens in your life and you look back at the path that led you there, you can connect the dots. Did you celebrate the path all along the way with gratitude leading up to that big occasion? Even on the bad days when things were not so great - did you remember to show up with enthusiasm and joy?

I guess my vision on this is that all the moments leading up to your happy memory can become part of the whole celebration with daily gratitude. Not only do you get to enjoy the destination you also get to enjoy the journey of you getting there.  Expectant thoughts of a happy future give the momentum, and these two emotions walk side by side throughout the day.

I make a mindful note to myself when I am down that I do not want to waste  much time on the branch of sadness and doubt.  I will be mad at myself when the good rolls in that I spent my  time of focusing on something that interrupts my flow to goodness and kindness.

What about the people along the way that led up to that great moment in your life?

Have a beautiful day.

Positive affirmations & surfing a wave of happiness

In the early morning eye blinks of today I find myself drinking a strong cup of java while I  reflect on how valuable it is to create an overall affirmation for your life.

"Don't worry be happy" is a pleasing mantra.  Maybe Snoopy is onto something.  Maybe we are all just way over thinking the whole pursuit of happiness thing.  Perhaps we need to just keep it simple and let our inner happiness surf outward  to meet our outer happiness.

I have the unction that inspiration is always knocking at our door of well-being.  Always surprised and relieved like that of a dear friend, our mind welcomes the inspiration for wonderful and amazing paths of creation.

Follow your imagination to the waters edge....

I guess my question to ask myself and I share this question with you as well, "What do you love to do?"

If you are experiencing life resistance and certain plans and dreams fall through take a step back; then consider visiting yourself with a self inquiry question.

Why is it so easy to make a living at what I love to do?

There I said it.  Cat's out of the bag. I am grabbing my metaphorical wet suit, a surf board and head out to catch that wave to happiness.

As I catch my reflection in the mirror, I throw in an "I love you" to myself like the perfect cream topping to a frappe mocha.

The Zak Noyle, surfing photographer video below celebrates one person's  personal expression of happiness.

The narrative of his life process includes words like quiet, nice and peaceful.
This career life expose video of a guy just having a blast with his life dream is so happily inspirational.

My own personal water experiences in Hawaii were actually pretty scary.  I got swamped by a wave on the north shore as a young teen and was very grateful to survive it.  I look to every water experience to be enjoyed with a tremendous amount of awe and respect. I love the water but I know her strength.  The Zak Noyle documentary, however, illustrates a deeper story than just water or photography and surfing to me.  There is  a lesson to be enjoyed on the art of  Zen through this  photographer's personal inner shine.

The inspiration I took away from watching Zak Noyle at work was  "When the student is ready the ThouGht arrives".

Zak Noyle's lifestyle pt. 2 video shows through example  that  the daily ritual and discipline of exercise opens doors to creativity that would not be possible otherwise.

Work hard play hard.

I think when I grow up I want to be like Zak.  Living my dream.  To create and creating all in one swell of a breath.  However I will be doing my surfing on the safety and dryness of  a beach and firmness of the land.
