Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.

I "count it all joy" in the midst of adversity

This is one of my favorite positive affirmations statements.

To understand the power and the magic of gratitude, you have to experience it for yourself.  So why not begin by deciding to find 100 things a day to be grateful for?

If you practice gratitude every day it won't take long before gratitude is your natural state of being, and when that happens you will have unlocked one of the greatest secrets to life.

EVENING PRAYER

Dear God,
Thank You for this day.
Thank You for my safety and the safety of my
loved ones.
As I enter sleep, may these hours give me peace.
May they bring healing to my mind and body.
While I sleep, dear Lord, please bless the world.
Where there is pain, where there are people who
have no place to sleep, who suffer and who die,
may Your angels come unto them and minister
to their lives.
Amen.

Reflections on the Year 2013.

My reflections for this year are focused on the daily process of believing in a brighter future.

Even when the obstacles show up I am committed to remain in a hopeful optimistic space.  My personal journey through this year has been anchored in daily gratitude. There have been many a time where I had to remind myself of the glass half full versus the glass half empty attitude.

I still have dreams of my company expanding with new designs.  The website changes should be complete in a  few months and although the changes are not big I am excited for the new framework I am developing for myself. The  new designs with a new direction,  feels natural. I am not rushing the process.

The time spent on myself has well been worth it. The few minutes a day that are just for me allow me to stay connected to my inner happiness and reflect in a positive way  toward being a successful entrepreneur.  Working at being more consistent at this is what I look forward to in the New Year.

Breathing/meditating for 5 to 15 minutes a day never disappoints me.

I am always curious to find  some nice Christmas music that is a qualifier for the Feel Good category  in my collection of music. I clicked on this first song  while I was multi tasking doing some dishes and found it quite melodic and relaxing to listen to.  I find while I am tidying up my mind is already racing in my head to the next task as I hurry through house chores.  Have to say this music added a enjoyable element to a necessary day to day event any time of the year.   I would visit this beautiful artful music any time I want to drift away in my head.

Shop Local for Christmas.

I received an email from a friend about a great sale at Eddie Bauer. She went on to explain that all the down vests were on sale and a what a fantastic savings it was.  Her  last sentence noted that it was the Eddie Bauer location in Flagstaff Arizona, where she lives and remember to buy local.

Got me thinking about local products to British Columbia, Canada.

I wanted to offer up something local that was available to purchase without having to drive for three days.

No, I did not find any local down vests on sale.

Here are two Canadian Bands from the West that I thought were highly original and I enjoyed their two uniquely different styles and sound.

Said the Whale ~ The light is You - music video.

Music is a great Christmas gifting idea. Even if you are buying someone a Christmas themed album or venturing out into music that is new and different.

A good conscience is paradise.

~Jacobus Arminius  (1560 - 1609)
  Dutch Theologian

I've dreamt in my life dreams that have stayed with me ever after, and changed my ideas; they've gone through and through me, like wine through water, and altered the colour of my mind.

Gossip is the opiate of the oppressed.

~Erica Jong  (1942 - )

This is one of my favorite positive affirmations statements.

Be aware of the big difference between inspired action and activity. Activity comes from the brain-mind and is rooted in disbelief and lack of faith - you are taking action to "make" your desire happen.  Inspired action is allowing the law to work through you and to move you.

Activity feels hard. Inspired action feels wonderful.

Here is an excerpt from the book, How to Be Rich~Compact Wisdom from the World's Greatest Wealth-Builders.

The Creative Power within us makes us into the image of that to which we give our attention.  We are Thinking Substance, and Thinking Substance always takes the form of that which it thinks about. The grateful mind is constantly fixed upon the best; therefore it tends to become the best. It takes the form or character of the best, and will receive the best.

Also, faith is born of gratitude.

The grateful mind continually expects good things, and expectation becomes faith. The reaction of gratitude upon one's own mind produces faith, and every outgoing wave of grateful thanksgiving increases faith. If you have no feeling of gratitude, you cannot long retain a living faith, and without a living faith you cannot get rich by the creative method.  It is necessary, then, to cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.

(From The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles, 1910)

A lovely quote by author Louise L. Hay, from her book ~ Heart Thoughts.

Everything

in our lives is a

mirror of us.

When something

is happening out there

that is not comfortable,

we have to look

inside and say:

"How am I creating it?

What is it within me that

Health for your mind.

My purse dangle creation was included in a  gift bag  to Martha Stewart back in 2011.  I included two  dangles from my collection; one was for Martha and the other was for her daughter Alexis Stewart. I was really happy to be invited to send my purse dangle to Martha Stewart and just by a wild chance get some feedback.

Maybe just maybe she would place an order.

Not to keep you in suspense, no orders came. I am sure she received it but maybe she gifted it to someone who she thought would be worthy of it. It's all good and I had a lot of fun dreaming - good dreams of sales.

The dangle I sent Martha was HEALTH and I put a polished quartz crystal nugget with it.  For her daughter  I sent along  a JOY dangle with a quartz crystal nugget and kyanite gemstone.  Once or twice I have daydreamed that the gift maybe even  made it to the streets of New York city  clipped onto Martha's yoga bag or tote bag.

I just came across this video with Martha Stewart  and Deepak Chopra talking about their new book releases.

Martha Stewarts new book, Living the Good life, focuses on your health as a 40 year old and older. She quoted some statistics that pretty soon there will be more people over the age of 65 then under in the U.S.A.

When I saw this video and realized that Martha's focus was Health I smiled. When I was presented with the opportunity to introduce my product to Martha Stewart I was a little nervous of gifting the right path.
I was going to send her a LOVE dangle but I always remember my Grandmother saying "If you have your Health you have everything."

So I chose HEALTH for Martha Stewart.

Alexis Stewart was a new Mother so I sent JOY her way.

I really took my time and thought about it, what  positive energy to gift to Martha Stewart. It was chosen with heartfelt intention.

To see Martha with a new book on Health made me very happy to see that my Grandma's voice in the back of my head chose the right path as a gift for her.

Create New Direction.

It is nice to be reminded that there are people doing amazing things out there  and we are again reminded this year with Amazing People video 2013.

Creating New Direction is the phrase that comes to mind when I watch this video. Going out of your way to break a pattern and do something new. Instead of walking to the store in one direction, walk another block and create a new path. Or back your car into your parking stall instead of driving in straight. Move the milk to the second shelf on your fridge instead of the top shelf. Buy yourself some flowers.

Put some images of a sport you would like to try  on your vision board at the beginning of the year and see what happens. No time for a vision board - just put it on your fridge. One image of a sport or of you doing something grand.

These little out of the box feelings give your mind and your senses a kick start.

Another suggestion is set your alarm 8 minutes earlier than normal and spend your first 8 minutes of the morning - just breathing and contemplating your day.

Then grab your dirt bike and go ride up and over  a cliff.

Paddle out to the find the largest wave to surf.

Hope on a plane and travel to the grand canyon with your parachute and go for a sail in the sky.

Skip a rope as fast as you can.

Find some fresh powder and go skiing.

Go for a run up a hill.

Hit the water with your feet skiing.

Fly through the air with your skateboard.

Comtemplate a  life moment with just one hand holding on.

Now go outside and play...

Have a beautiful day,

Remember to breathe.

Fun sayings, positive affirmations and powerful quotes.

Peace is the fairest form of happiness.

~William Ellery Channing (1780 -1842)
  American writer and orator

We are either progressing or retrograding all the while; there is no such thing as remaining stationary in this life.

~James Freeman Clarke  (1810 - 1888)
  American minister, theologian and author

What the hell - you might be right, you might be wrong - but don't just avoid.

~Katharine Hepburn (1909 - 2003)
  American actress

This is one of my favorite positive affirmations statements.

What is the most powerful thing you can acc to the process of creating what you want?  Ask for others as you ask for yourself.  An easy way to do this is to ask for ALL, which of course includes you.  Ask for a good life for all, peace for all, abundance for all, health for all, love for all, and happiness for all.

When you ask for others, it comes back to you, so the law has it ALL covered.

A WAY IN

I see in my mind a little ball of golden light.
I watch this light as it begins to grow larger and
larger, until now it covers the entire inner
vision of my mind.
I see within this light a beautiful temple.
I see a garden that surrounds the temple and a
body of water that flows through the garden.
I see that the inside of the temple is lit by this
same beautiful golden light, and I am here.
For I have been drawn here by the power and in
the presence of God.
I dedicate my my days and my relationships and
experiences to You.
May Your Spirit, which is within me, so guide
my thoughts, my feelings and my perceptions
of all things.
That I might grow into a happier, more peaceful,
more loving human being.
Illumine my mind, illumine my life.
Amen.

Your future looks bright.

I believe looking behind you and connecting the dots to where you are today can help in shaping your future choices.

It has been two years since I  started breathing on a daily basis. Meditating is another word for breathing in my uncomplicated get happy world. It has been a bumpy ride because months would pass and I would forget to breathe for five minutes a day and then I would by the grace of goodness be reminded how refreshed  it makes me feel.

Then I would start up again on my breathing/meditating.

I had another wonderful reminder this spring with the free meditation series offered by Oprah and Deepak Chopra. Miraculous relationships.  It was a free series of a 1/2 hr guided talk and  meditation sent to my email everyday for 21 days.. Oprah would introduce and discuss the set up for the focused meditation. Then Deepak Chopra would offer the centering thought and while listening to beautiful music meditate for fifteen minutes.

I laughed when I re-visited a posting from November  2011 of mine discussing Oprah and her talk with Kathy Freston on breathing. Back then I wrote about the new blog intent.com created by Mallika Chopra, Deepak Chopra's daughter. Deepak endorsed the blog with videos and it was a few months of sheer delight for me to watch Deepak's videos  and read the various articles by Mallika and the first round of visiting writers. Back then you could just comment on any articles with no signing in or anything.  I'm sure thats how people felt so free at Woodstock back in the 1960's . It was a great few months in time with that blog.

Since then it has ballooned into this huge blog with a stable of writers and very hip in the art of positive thinking.

It is a noteworthy blog. - www.intent.com

Going back though to 2011  Mallika Chopra  posted a article on meditating for children. I put in the comment box that I had just starting breathing and what "Oprah said" about breathing and what "Oprah said" about a mantra.
It was sincere and honest. To anyone having read it they must of thought of only one word.

Newbie.

Mallika was very kind in her reply to my "Oprah said this" and "Oprah said that" with regard to how to breathe comment.
She was encouraging and it was a great moment for me. I wanted to keep breathing/meditating.

I must of sounded so naive, which I was.

I think Mallika  Chopra is pretty cool to have started her blog.

Mallika never mentioned the new product that would be launching in six months. Im sure if she could she would of said something to encourage me to look out for the collaboration between her Father and Oprah.

Seven months later Oprah and Deepak  offered the online world their shared interest of a 21 day breathing/meditating challenge CD, offered free to listen to.

If you liked the product you could then purchase it.

My girlfriend had emailed me to sign up for the  launch in 2012 of the free listen for 21 days but for whatever reason I could not connect the dots in my life to do it.  I do remember thinking how wild that was that they must of been already talking about their new idea - I guess right about the same time I was commenting on  Mallika Chopra's  blog intent.com.

Now in contemplation Im thinking about how all that happened. Could it be that my questions of sincerity and curiosity bridged a dialogue of common interest and good between Oprah and Deepak?

Did my need create a product?

Maybe all those manifesting books by Deepak Chopra I read did work more than I realized then?

Oh please, get over yourself.... Im saying to myself.

When I  finally got to take advantage of the free Oprah and Deepak "Miraculous Relationships" 21 day challenge this year I bought the music  compiled for the backdrop of the positive focused thoughts. I play the music while  I  enjoy my breathing/meditating.

In a world of being hip and correct I guess I was able to get  quiet enough to find something that worked to enervate my mind in a passive peaceful manner.

We all have to find our own way.

Quiet moments where you can tune out the world while most importantly remaining here on planet earth  is something I look forward to everyday.

Maybe as I mature I wont need music to listen to - maybe I will be able to just sit quiet and breathe. Maybe this music CD for contemplation is like training wheels for a kid who has not learned to ride a two wheeler yet.

Whatever it is.

I like it.

The moral of my story is don't give up. Keep looking and keep asking. You will create your own path to a balanced mind by your curiosity. Simple daily routines to renew your mind. Maybe some of the routines come and go. Maybe some stay with you a long time.

As my Grandma would say; "If you have your health - you have everything."

I say; A sound mind is a good place to start.

Have a beautiful day.

Remember to breathe.
